North Rode residents celebrated the Coronation of King Charles III on Bank Holiday Monday in style by unveiling a brand new historical village centre sign at Daintry Hall. The sign, commissioned by the Parish Council was revealed with panache by Shirley Tudor-Evans followed by a rousing three cheers for the King. Over 60 villagers enjoyed a picnic, tea coffee and cake in Michael’s Church, which had been beautifully decorated for the Coronation.
This was followed by a stroll through the park to view a stand of flowering cherry tree’s, recently planted by the parish council and Malcolm & Sheila Kidd to commemorate the late, Great Queen Elizabeth II as part of her Green Canopy legacy.
