Draft Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting
held on Thursday 8th May 2025 at 7.00pm at St Michael’s Church

Approximately 20 residents of the village were in attendance
1. Welcome by the Chairman
Huw Williams welcomed everyone to the meeting. Wine, soft drinks and cheese were provided by the Parish Council for the Parish Meeting.
2. VEDay 80
In recognition of the VE 80 Day today, the Chairman and helpers had decorated the Church with flags, bunting and war memorabilia. War time pictures and news films were displayed on a video screen. The Chairman read out a tribute to those who bravely served our country in the second world war.

5. Presentation of the Chairman’s Report for 2024/25
Councillor Huw Williams presented the Chairman’s Annual report. A significant amount of positive actions had been achieved over the past 12 months. The DDay80 celebration held in the Church for residents of the village with a swing band and fish & chip supper had been a very successful village social event. Huw was thanked for his hard work and committed approach to pursuing improvements for the village and to encourage social get togethers.
6. Presentation of an update to the Daintry Hall improvement work
Following the granting of planning permission in December 2024, Mr Tony Hayes provided an update on the progress of the plans to construct a wooden pavilion in the grounds of Daintry Hall and the significant improvement works required to update the Daintry Hall building and outdoor sports facility and car park. A number of conditions were attached to the planning approval which were taking time to discharge before construction works can commence. It is anticipated that work can start in 2026.
7. Public Participation – Questions and Answers session
Residents asked a number of questions in relation to traffic concerns on Bank Lane / Church Lane and also on the plans for Daintry Hall. Responses were provided.
