To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations, the Parish Council hosted a beacon lighting event on 2nd June at Daintry Hall, The village was serenaded by the Wychcraft Big Band into the evening, with the magnificent St Michaels church as a backdrop, lit up in red white and blue courtesy of North Rode events company Litech. The beacon was set alight by Mr Philip Brocklehurst the oldest resident of the village having recently celebrated his 97th Birthday.
On Friday 3rd June, North Rode villagers were treated to afternoon tea at the Manor, at the kind invitation of Mr & Mrs David Pollack, where we enjoyed walking their extensive and beautiful gardens, watching a team of locals playing tennis and were served with a delicious afternoon tea and Pimms
