Draft Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

held on Thursday 8th May 2025 at 7.00pm at St Michael\u2019s Church<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brenda Lomas – Clerk<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Approximately 20 residents of the village were in attendance<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.             Welcome by the Chairman<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Huw Williams welcomed everyone to the meeting.  Wine, soft drinks and cheese were provided by the Parish Council for the Parish Meeting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.             VEDay 80<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recognition of the VE 80 Day today, the Chairman and helpers had decorated the Church with flags, bunting and war memorabilia. War time pictures and news films were displayed on a video screen. The Chairman read out a tribute to those who bravely served our country in the second world war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.             Apologies for absence \u2013 None<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.             Councillors were introduced to the residents<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.             Presentation of the Chairman\u2019s Report for 2024\/25<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Councillor Huw Williams presented the Chairman\u2019s Annual report. A significant amount of positive actions had been achieved over the past 12 months.  The DDay80 celebration held in the Church for residents of the village with a swing band and fish & chip supper had been a very successful village social event. Huw was thanked for his hard work and committed approach to pursuing improvements for the village and to encourage social get togethers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6.             Presentation of an update to the Daintry Hall improvement work<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the granting of planning permission in December 2024, Mr Tony Hayes provided an update on the progress of the plans to construct a wooden pavilion in the grounds of Daintry Hall and the significant improvement works required to update the Daintry Hall building and outdoor sports facility and car park.  A number of conditions were attached to the planning approval which were taking time to discharge before construction works can commence. It is anticipated that work can start in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7.             Public Participation \u2013 Questions and Answers session<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residents asked a number of questions in relation to traffic concerns on Bank Lane \/ Church Lane and also on the plans for Daintry Hall. Responses were provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
